The Townshend Acts, by Hannah M.
Parliament passed the
Townshend Acts
in 1767. These were laws that placed import taxes, or duties, on
tea
, glass, lead and paint dyes. The British revived Writs of Assistance (search warrants) to enfore the Townshend Acts.
